Bontebok National Park

Introduction

Bontebok is the smallest national park in South Africa and is located in the Western Cape Province six km south of Swellendam, on the banks of the Breede River

It was specifically set aside to protect the almost extinct Bontebok antelope, that is found nowhere else. Birdlife in the park is abundant and it is home to numerous antelope, including Bontebok, Grey Rhebuck, red Hartebeest. The park also has large variety grasses and other plant species.

The park can be visited all year round and it is perfect for a day's visit.

There are designated camp sites within the park with geat views of the Brede River having ablution facilities.
