Day 01: Nairobi – Amboseli
We will pick you up from your Nairobi Hotel at 0800hrs and thereafter depart for Amboseli National Park via Emali Town. You arrive in time for check-in and lunch at a Campsite. After an afternoon rest, you will embark on a game-drive in this famous park of environmental contrasts and is dubbed “Kilimanjaro’s Royal Castle” as the mountain gives it a breath-taking and majestic back-drop. Dinner and overnight is at the Campsite.

Day 02: Amboseli
After breakfast, you proceed on a day of morning and afternoon game drives in this Park which contains game-rich swampy grounds while hosting huge-tusked elephants and hippos among other wild game. Birds can also be seen. Other animals in abundance include varieties of plains game and antelopes like waterbuck and resident gnu beside big cats, bufallos, hyenas and jackals. A visit to the Observation Hill will follow where you will look out for Mount Kilimanjaro’s Peak if weather conditions permit, while having a bird’s eyeview of the greater park. Lunch is in between. Rest of meals and overnight will be at the Campsite.

Day 03: Amboseli - Nakuru
After breakfast, depart Amboseli for Lake Nakuru National Park with a lunch stop-over in Nairobi and via the Panoramic View Point of The Great Rift Valley. While on the highway, Mount Longonot (which is of volcanic origin) and Lake Naivasha can be seen from afar. Arrive in the early afternoon for check-in at a Campsite and a game-drive in this phenominal National Park. Dinner and overnight is at the Campsite.

Day 04: Nakuru- Naivasha
After breakfast a morning game drive will follow in Lake Nakuru National Park, the abode of various water birds that breed in the lake’s salty water including flamingos, white pelicans and marabou stork; white rhino may be seen as well as the rare Rothschild’s giraffe, cape buffalo and other plains game in this park that is 188 square kilometres. After lunch you depart for Naivasha Town where you arrive for check-in at Campsite. The nearby Lake Naivasha, the highest lake in the Rift Valley, is famous for being used as a staging post in the 1930’s for The Imperial Airways Flying Boat Services from Durban to London.

You will then have a boat ride among the lake’s hippo families and spectacular bird-life showcase up to the Crescent Island where you will experience an unforgettable on-foot game tracking. Dinner and overnight is at the Campsite.

Day 05: Naivasha – Mara
After breakfast, depart Naivasha for Masai Mara Game Reserve arriving in time for check-in, lunch and a short rest at a Campsite. You then proceed for a late afternoon game drive. The Masai Mara is famous for it’s wildlife concentration and abundance that is second to none in the region. Elephant, lion and buffalo can be seen with relative ease though luck is a necessary factor for spotting rhino and leopard that complete the big five as the two animals are very timid and sparsely numbered. Dinner and overnight is at the Campsite.

Day 06: Masai Mara
After breakfast, a full day of tracking game with your guide in this Reserve which forms the same eco-system with Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park and is the annual seasonal scene of the migration of close to 800,000 zebra and wildebeest that occurs between the two Parks. The Mara’s landscape is scenic savannah grassland on rolling hills, which enables the Reserve to attract sufficient rainfall to maintain and support a large population of herbivores, together with the predators that follow. Beside The Big Five, plains game like wildebeest, zebra and maasai giraffe abound as well as hippos and a wide variety of antelopes including impala, dik dik, hartebeest, Grant’s gazelle and Thompson’s gazelle among others. We will cater for a picnic lunch at the Hippo Pool.

In the afternoon there is a choice between a game drive and a nature walk escorted by our armed Maasai guides. At an extra cost, you may visit a local Maasai village to see their nomadic lifestyle; the Maasai are famous for their bravery, as they have co-existed with the animals over the years. In the evening, return to the Campsite for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 07: Masai Mara – Nairobi

About Our Reviews

Our reviews are Fully Qualified

We do not take reviews from unqualified sources

Since 1996 we have been working with the best tour operators in Africa. Our unique relationship with those operators ensures only people who have participated in a trip after making an enquiry for it at AfricaGuide.com can leave a review.

The email we send you when you make an enquiry has full instructions for registering a booking and leaving a review - both are free services.

Feel free to read through the reviews for any trip you like the look of.

Trips with no reviews are usually new to AfricaGuide.com but are normally operated by a tour operator who is established here and has gained operator reviews for you to read.

Thanks for visiting, happy travels and don't forget to send us your reviews...

About our trip providers and reviews

Our Trip Providers

We carry out extensive company checks on all our providers, over 20 years we have built strong personal relationships with each of them, which assures you of an unparalleled service, great value and the trip of a lifetime.
We have participated in many of the trips found here (we have a nice job) and make our own independent assessments of the services provided, ensuring they meet with our own high standards.

All the trips are supplied by the end provider of that trip.
You may find the same or similar trips elsewhere, usually these are offered by an agent.
We prefer to give you direct access to the trip provider for reasons outlined below:

  1. Best price.
The price you see here is the direct trip price set by the provider, the same price as purchasing directly with them (which is how it works), there are no added commissions.
This means you are not paying an agents commission and the provider is receiving their fully budgeted trip cost.
(agents can demand discounts from providers as well as adding commissions to the providers trip price)
  2. Easy customisation.
By booking directly with the end provider, making changes is quick and easy.
  3. Fast problem solving.
On the rare occasion that an issue may arise before or during your trip, by dealing directly with the end provider, problem solving is quick and efficient.
  4. Helping Africa help itself.
The most straightforward way to assist the economic opportunities and conditions for local people across Africa, is by direct financial interaction with people in Africa. In a nutshell "Tourism".
This kind of direct tourism gives opportunity to local people.

We limit the number of providers we work with in order to strike a balance between a good choice of trips and to be sure we can honestly recommend the service and validity of each provider.
Because the majority of trips can be customised by the providers, the choice of trip configurations is in the tens of thousands.

Our Reviews

We have 3,000+ reviews for our trips and providers.
All our reviews are fully qualified, we do not take unqualified reviews.
We show all reviews, the good and the critical (very few). Our providers have the ability to respond to reviews and those responses are shown alongside the review.
Acquiring genuine reviews is actually very hard, for our genuine travellers we make this an easy process but many people although satisfied with the service they received do not leave a review.

Many reviews on the internet can be left by an open process with little or no checks.
At best unqualified reviews are worthless, at worst they are misleading. We never take unqualified reviews.

We hope you find a trip to your liking and we are here to assist.

Wishing you happy travels...
