Nairobi National park.
Nairobi National Park Kenya's first ever National Park is a unique and unspoilt wildlife haven within sight of the city's skyline. Rhino, buffalo, cheetah, zebra, giraffe, lion and plenty of antelopes and gazelles can be seen roaming in this open plains country with a section of highland forest as well as stretches of broken bush country, deep, rocky valleys and gorges with scrub and long grass. Ornithologists catch with over 300 bird species including the Secretary bird, crowned cranes, vultures, peckers and many more. Nairobi is boasting of having the only wildlife sanctuary to be found in the city precincts in the world. Despite its proximity over 50 species of mammals can be found there, including four of the Big Five with elephant species not being represented.
The Nairobi Safari Walk is a K.W.S. Conservation project seeking to aware visitors to Kenyan's wildlife and their habitats. It has been created to provide a higher standard of conservation project. The safari walk on the wooden-deck is a recreative experience. We have variety of animal to be seen from antelopes, Hyena cheetahs and many others.
David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage
A place to visit and experience the wild animal very close to human. You will come close to elephant calves! Daphne Sheldrick As part of the David Sheldrick Conservation Foundation rehabilitates baby elephants and other wildlife. These babies have lost their mothers to poaching, death, injuries, on getting lost in the wild or other tragedies. Daphne and her dedicated staff raise them to be released back into the wild when they are ready. Its worth visiting and see humanitarian care to the wildlife and the heart it takes to care. The orphanage opens for 1 hour a day from 1100 Hrs - 1200 Hrs. This is normally the feeding time of the animals. A keeper will give a talk about the elephants, where they came from, how they are getting on, and how some of the previous orphans are progressing. The orphanage also takes in rhinos and so if you are lucky you will get the chance to see a young rhino. Later have a lunch experience in Nairobi before dropping off at Airport or Nairobi hotel.
