You will visit Maasai Mara game reserve, Amboseli National park, Taita Hills game sanctuary and the Tsavo National park before driving to the beach Resort. Transportation is based on safari vehicle.

Day 1: Arrival Nairobi
On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met representative and transferred to Sarova Stanley Hotel for overnight. If you arrive in the morning, we cannot guarantee access to the room until 1200 hours. Rest of the day at your disposal. At 1800 hours, pick up and transfer to Carnivore Restaurant for dinner. Return to your hotel for overnight.

Day 2: Drive to Maasai Mara

The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephant. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures. Dinner and overnight at Mara Simba Lodge or similar.

Lake Nakuru's claim to fame is anchored on its flamingo's and the over 400 species of birds found here. The lake itself is a soda lake on the floor of the rift valley. The sight of the at times millions of flamingos is quite spectacular. From a distance the lake appears ringed in pink. The Lake has also earned a reputation as an important haven for endangered species- particularly the Rothschild Giraffe and the black and white rhino. Lions, waterbuck, buffalo and baboons are all residents here. Later in the evening transfer to Lake Naivasha Simba Lodge for overnight.

Day 5: Drive from Lake Nakuru to Amboseli
Early morning game drive in the park is followed by breakfast at the lodge. After breakfast, leave Lake Nakuru National park, driving slowly to arrive Nairobi in time for early lunch at Tamambo Restaurant. After lunch, proceed on to Amboseli National Park. Enjoy a game drive on your way to the lodge. Amboseli National park is one of the smaller game parks in Kenya and the vegetation ensures that the animals are easy to spot. Lions can easily be found and can occasionally be watched stalking their prey. Buffalo, zebra, giraffe, gazelle and other plains game are plentiful in the park and hippos live in the open waters and swamp channels. The elephants found here are surprisingly relaxed around safari vehicles; they were largely unaffected by ivory poaching and have some of the largest tusks. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Sopa Lodge or similar.

Separated only by the Mombasa/Nairobi road from Tsavo East, Tsavo West is part of the entire Tsavo eco-system. Famous for the Mzima Springs, with its unique underwater hippo observatory, and for the Shaitani lava flows and Chaimu volcanic crater, the park offers plenty of opportunity to explore on foot. In addition the park has recorded over 600 species of birds. The park also holds an important rhino sanctuary and is famous for elephant.

Day 9: Drive from Tsavo West to Taita Hills
After your breakfast, depart for Taita Hills game sanctuary. On your way, you will visit Mzima Springs. You arrive Sarova Saltlick Lodge in time for lunch.Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary is spectacularly located at the foot of the Taita Hills adjacent to Tsavo National Park, one of the world's largest game reserves. The Sanctuary, established in 1972, is privately owned and managed and covers a protected area of 28,000 acres (approximately 110 sq. kms or 44 sq. miles) rising to an altitude of 1,200 meters above sea level (3,600 ft.). It consists mainly of plains and woodlands, with typical riverbank vegetation along the water course. Flanked by the eye-catching and craggy Taita Hills, the park offers a safe-haven to a wide variety of animals and birds in a compact area of natural beauty. More than 50 pecies of mammals are found in this area and over 300 species of birds have been recorded within its boundaries. The vegetation within the Sanctuary shows a north-south, as well as east-west gradient from bush to wooded savanna and grassland. Browsing species such as waterbuck, impala, bushbuck and reedbuck are normally encountered in riverine or marshy vegetation and are preyed on by leopard. An electric fence along our northern boundary prevents elephant and buffalo from venturing into the neighboring villages and damaging crops. This is part of the commitment to supporting local communities. The best times for viewing wildlife are early morning and mid to late afternoon. Light conditions at these times are also optimal for photography. Afternoon game drive in the sanctuary till sunset. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Saltlick Lodge.

About Our Reviews

Our reviews are Fully Qualified

We do not take reviews from unqualified sources

Since 1996 we have been working with the best tour operators in Africa. Our unique relationship with those operators ensures only people who have participated in a trip after making an enquiry for it at AfricaGuide.com can leave a review.

The email we send you when you make an enquiry has full instructions for registering a booking and leaving a review - both are free services.

Feel free to read through the reviews for any trip you like the look of.

Trips with no reviews are usually new to AfricaGuide.com but are normally operated by a tour operator who is established here and has gained operator reviews for you to read.

About our trip providers and reviews

Our Trip Providers

We carry out extensive company checks on all our providers, over 20 years we have built strong personal relationships with each of them, which assures you of an unparalleled service, great value and the trip of a lifetime.
We have participated in many of the trips found here (we have a nice job) and make our own independent assessments of the services provided, ensuring they meet with our own high standards.

All the trips are supplied by the end provider of that trip.
You may find the same or similar trips elsewhere, usually these are offered by an agent.
We prefer to give you direct access to the trip provider for reasons outlined below:

  1. Best price.
The price you see here is the direct trip price set by the provider, the same price as purchasing directly with them (which is how it works), there are no added commissions.
This means you are not paying an agents commission and the provider is receiving their fully budgeted trip cost.
(agents can demand discounts from providers as well as adding commissions to the providers trip price)
  2. Easy customisation.
By booking directly with the end provider, making changes is quick and easy.
  3. Fast problem solving.
On the rare occasion that an issue may arise before or during your trip, by dealing directly with the end provider, problem solving is quick and efficient.
  4. Helping Africa help itself.
The most straightforward way to assist the economic opportunities and conditions for local people across Africa, is by direct financial interaction with people in Africa. In a nutshell "Tourism".
This kind of direct tourism gives opportunity to local people.

We limit the number of providers we work with in order to strike a balance between a good choice of trips and to be sure we can honestly recommend the service and validity of each provider.
Because the majority of trips can be customised by the providers, the choice of trip configurations is in the tens of thousands.

Our Reviews

We have 3,000+ reviews for our trips and providers.
All our reviews are fully qualified, we do not take unqualified reviews.
We show all reviews, the good and the critical (very few). Our providers have the ability to respond to reviews and those responses are shown alongside the review.
Acquiring genuine reviews is actually very hard, for our genuine travellers we make this an easy process but many people although satisfied with the service they received do not leave a review.

Many reviews on the internet can be left by an open process with little or no checks.
At best unqualified reviews are worthless, at worst they are misleading. We never take unqualified reviews.

We hope you find a trip to your liking and we are here to assist.

Wishing you happy travels...
