The Cape province is one of South Africa's most beautiful areas, and has so much to offer our tourists. It is rich in both history and scenic beauty, but is best viewed in the summer months.
Our tour plans on showing you the Cape in all its glory. There is so much to see that we have compiled a 6 day itinerary to include what we feel are the highlights.
Day 1
The tour will start in Cape Town itself, where our first port of call is the world famous landmark Table Mountain.
Then we are off to the V&A Waterfront, where you can shop till you drop, before we take to the sea to visit Robben Island, the prison island that was home to our former president,[Nelson Mandela, for much of his 27 year imprisonment.
Day 2
The next day we get a taste of South Africa's wine industry, where we will visit some of the well known wine farms and ensure that we get to see some of the smaller, more personalized farms. Many of these farms do not only make wine and offer wine tasting, but include activities like cheese making and produce the most magnificent wood furniture and other crafts.
Day 3
One of the tour's highlights comes in the form of the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, which offers you the chance to view some of the fauna and flora endemic to the Cape. It also has unsurpassed views of the rugged coast line. We also get to visit other attractions like Chapmans Peak, Boulders Beach(famous for the Penguins) and Hout Bay where we head out to sea to view the seals on Seal Island.
Day 4
we head for the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, famous for its very unique fynbos (Fine Bush). In the afternoon we travel back in time to view the Castle of Good Hope and see how tough it really was back then.
Day 5
we head out to see ]Hermanus. Depending on the season Hermanus offers great whale watching from the shore, some times as close as 30m. This however is not the main highlight of the day. The drive itself is great and well worth spending the day in the car.
Day 6
Our last day we slow things down a little. Depending on your flight details, we venture back into the wine lands, not only to taste the great South African wine but to soak in the history and scenic beauty of the Western Cape.
Birding can be incorporated into this tour. We have one of the countries best bird guides (one of six), available to do this tour for you should you be a keen birder. Please feel free to request a list of special birds we could find for you on this tour.
All the tours we offer are perfectly suited to be the ideal family holiday. As we do not mix groups together you don’t have to worry about loud or over active children getting in the way of anybody else. Our guides understand that tours with children need to be handled a little differently! On request we can even provide prams, car seats and booster seats for very young children.
This tour can be customised to suit you.
