Mabuda or "Place of Dreams" in the beautiful Swaziland Lebombo Mountains: A historic and picturesque farm surrounded by nature. Explore Swaziland or stop on your way to Kruger or Maputo. 8 units B&B, backpackers and camping to offer; so much
Mabuda or "Place of Dreams" is a romantic corner of the beautiful Lebombo Mountains. This is a historic farm: 1930’s décor and atmosphere are evident everywhere you look. The farm produces maize and beef, and the dairy is the oldest dairy in Swaziland, still providing quality food for the village community.
Mabuda, set amongst exceptional natural beauty offers fantastic birding and spectacular views, right on your doorstep. A large pool set in the garden of the historic Mabuda House is available to guests. You are invited to use the Boma’s for entertaining or braai. Farm produce such as creamy milk, fruit, homemade butter and jam is on the breakfast menu!
Warm thatched rondavels and chalets provide accommodation for visitors in 8 units offering a choice of Self-catering or B&B, backpackers or camping. Mabuda is a quiet haven where you feel refreshed and close to nature. It is convenient for groups to meet up on the way to Mozambique (border 28Km away) or the Kruger Park. Mostly, it’s the beauty of Swaziland on your doorstep that is irresistible! Business travelers will find this a quiet stop-over.
We do not provide TV, bar facility or a restaurant. South African rand is accepted but there are no credit facilities at Mabuda.
Siteki town is 1km away, with a restaurant and good grocery stores. There is a FNB bank with ATM, a filling station and Off-sales. Local Activities include a cultural village and game reserves, within 20 km. The Good Shepherd Hospital is within walking distance and has a strong link with Mabuda.
Your hosts are Jonathan and Helen Pons who look forward to your visit!
Once in Siteki, Swaziland: Past a filling station and hotel on your left, take the first right turn you are allowed to take. (The first one being a One-Way) At that turn-off, you will see our signs which will direct you to Mabuda.
Signs will direct you as follows: You continue directly over the stop street, and before the intersection at the end, at the little cemetery, turn right, also signposted. Cross the tar road directly onto a dirt road (signposted) and continue ahead, over a cattle grille, 1,5 km. Don't turn left or right and you will find yourself in the farm. The lodge is the thatched building on your Left. Make your way to the little park home under the trees where we have the reception.
